Newsletter - Issue #2

We hope all our clients had a very happy Mother’s Day!

As we roll into spring the birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and the foals are running circles around their moms! There’s nothing better than watching active foals playing with their loving mothers, but just like in human motherhood, it’s a tiring job!

If your mare is rebounding from foaling, or a little hoof-sore from the extra weight she’s been carrying, don’t you think a pair of Soft-Rides would be just the sort of support she needs? After all, it’s the season for supporting all the moms in our lives the best we can!

Learn About Soft-Ride Boots

Foaling Season and Hoof Pain

When a Little Pampering is Due

Foaling season brings a spike in sore footed broodmares. By applying Soft Ride Gel Comfort Boots, mares may experience better mobility.

We’re in the midst of foaling season and with that comes a spike in sore footed broodmares. The extra weight of pregnancy, especially in mares with a history of lameness, thin soles, or laminitis, can cause inflammation and acute pain.

Soft-Ride’s raised gel orthotic insert reduces tension on the deep digital flexor tendon and cushions the hoof during impact with the ground. The rolled toe of the boot eases the breakover strain, and velcro straps allow for easy application. Applying Soft-Ride comfort boots as a preventative care measure helps reduce the chances of discomfort and injury.

An Edit from our Last Newsletter: Focus on Laminitis

In our last article we had a layout malfunction that flipped the images and labels for a laminitic hoof and a healthy one. Please see the correct images below and thank you to our careful, knowledgeable readers for catching the flip!

“I wanted to reach out and thank you for developing and making the Soft-Ride boots! I have a 16 year old, retired warmblood cross. He has an old fetlock injury but is otherwise pasture sound and always a little frisky. He has had some footsoreness this year and he chipped his front feet very low. He was so sore he wasn't even leaving his stall or excited to go out. His legs also started to stock up for the first time ever."

"My friend recommended your boots and I am so happy I ordered them. I had some luck with packing his feet, wrapping and surpassing, and foam pads, but not even close to the same results. As soon as the Soft-Ride boots went on he started licking and chewing and wanted to go out to graze. The tension in his face was gone immediately and the swelling in his legs was gone by the next morning. The difference in soundness is incredible! Thank you for making my horse happy so I can be happy!”
