Soft Ride at the 2024 All American Quarter Horse Congress
We've been having an incredible time at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio, over the past few weeks! It's been busy, but in the best way. Most of our time has been spent in the booth, where we’ve enjoyed talking with fellow horse enthusiasts about the importance of proper support and circulation for the hoof.
Keeping horses comfortable is a top priority for everyone at the show. Many competitors travel hundreds, if not thousands, of miles to be here, and once they arrive, their horses are walking across acres of concrete and blacktop as they move between stalls, warm-up areas, and competition arenas. Without the right support, this can lead to sore hooves, and no one wants to risk their horse’s performance after all the effort, time, and money it takes to compete at this level.
Thankfully, Soft Ride is here to help! The boots and deep gel orthotics provide essential support and protection for these amazing equine athletes as they compete in a huge variety of disciplines. We’ve been thrilled to spot so many horses wearing Soft Ride Boots as they move between warm-ups, competitions, and cool-downs, keeping them at their best.
Take a moment to check out some video testimonials of riders using Soft Ride Boots and Ice Spas at the All American Quarter Horse Congress! It’s great to see these boots in action, and we’re proud to be part of helping these horses perform comfortably at such a prestigious event.

Jeff Honey - Ranch Riding

Jeff Honey uses Soft Ride boots on all his horses to make sure they’re protected from the concussion on the hooves that happens at Congress while walking on concrete and asphalt in the barn and across the fairgrounds. Jenny Honey and Hollywood Hot Gun (pictured) were the Amateur Ranch Riding Congress Champions on September 30th, 2024.

Connor Osborn - Team Roping

Connor Osborn and Shawn Kreder were the Open Roping IPRA Congress Champions. Conner uses Soft Ride boots on Buttermilk (pictured) and his other rope horses to prevent road founder and keep the horses comfortable and sound while traveling. Connor’s next stop is the Indian Nationals Rodeo in South Point Las Vegas from October 22-26th.

Brian Bell uses Soft Ride Ice Spas on his performance horses after workouts to help them recover faster and to enhance the longevity of their careers. Brian has been at the forefront of the reining horse world for 30 years and ensuring he has sound, strong horses has added to the success of his multimillion dollar career.

Taylor Young and Jamie Edwards - Barrel Racing
Jamie and Taylor keep all the horses at their barn and rehab facility in Soft Ride Boots to minimize concussion damage when taking the horses across hard surfaces like the concrete in the barns and asphalt at Congress. The deep gel orthotics help minimize the vibration from bumpy roads when they trailer between Texas and Pennsylvania.

Andrea Fappani trains all his staff to use the Soft Ride Boots on their horses as part of their daily routine and for preventative care of the horses’ hooves and legs. Andrea Fappani was inducted into the NRHA hall of fame this year and holds the title of becoming the NRHA’s first ever 9 million dollar rider.

Karen and Bob Johnson - Ranch Riding
Karen and Bob Johnson use Soft Rides any time they’re on the road. The boots and gels help keep their horses comfortable, supported, and protected from hot asphalt when the summer temperatures heat up the roads and parking lots the horses are traveling over and standing in. Karen and Chilly (pictured) are the 2024 Amateur Select Ranch Riding Congress Champions.

Rylee Harding - Western Pleasure
Rylee took Waylon (pictured) to see Dr. Brad Cumper from Game Time (Saginaw Valley Equine Clinic’s mobile treatment facility at the Congress) when Waylon arrived in Columbus feeling sore from thin soles. The Ice Spas have helped pull the heat out of his hooves and legs which has made it possible for Rylee and Waylon to be able to ride at the show.
